At Kenyan Adventure, we are proud of our pioneering Community Development Pledge, which consolidates all our work across Kenya into an annual commitment which we organise our trips around. This substantiates the humanitarian support and resource support we provide our partner projects with. For example, if a school has an overcrowded classroom, Kenyan Adventure will fund the materials to build a new classroom, actively recruit the volunteers to build the classroom and the teaching volunteers to teach in the classroom thereafter. This means that we recruit volunteers for specific roles to ensure that each volunteer’s trip is worthwhile, fulfilling and contributes to our wider commitment to sustainable development. The focus of the 2012 Kenyan Adventure Community Development Pledge is to create and fund income-generating revenue streams at each project.
