They say if you visit Africa and don't go on safari, then you haven't seen Africa!
KenyanAdventure are delighted to offer this superb, exclusive adventure day at three of the most fascinating attractions in Kenya's Rift Valley province. You will visit Lake Nakuru National Safari Park - one of the most popular game drives in the whole of east Africa - before standing on the earth's equator and rounding your trip off with a visit to the glorious Thomson Falls.
From lions and monkeys to giraffes and flamingoes, Lake Nakuru National Safari Park is home to some of the most famous wildlife on earth.
The equator is a must for anybody who wants to stand on both hemispheres at once! And finally, you can take a fascinating trek to the bottom of Thomson Falls for some breathtaking views.
You can add the Rift Valley Adventure Day to your volunteering placement by contacting your UK Trip Co-ordinator or simply booking online by clicking the tab below.
You will start your day bright and early by descending on Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for the millions of pink flamingos that belt the lake. In over 180 square kilometres of outstanding natural beauty, you can find rhinos, giraffes, lions, buffalo and hyenas to name only a few. The journey up Baboon Cliff will allow you to see the park in all its glory from over 300ft high as well as neighbouring Nakuru town sat on the adjacent hilltop.
After a brief break, you will be able to cross off another one of life's 'must-dos' by heading north towards the earth's equatorial belt - where you can stand on the northern hemisphere with one foot and the southern hemisphere with the other! Here, a local physicist will show you an incredible experiment that verifies the theory of the earth's gravitational pull before your very eyes.
Finally, you will drive to Nyahururu to find one of the biggest waterfalls in east Africa - Thomson Falls. The Falls are over 250ft deep and you can even descend to the bottom with a worthwhile trek down the bumpy cliff for some awesome views.
Thomson Falls is also famous for having an abundance of souvenir stalls, which you will have ample opportunity to bargain at before the journey leads you back to Nakuru.
It is important to know exactly what you get with your trip so you can plan ahead with no unwanted surprises!

" I have always wanted to visit the equator and go on a safari - to do it all in one day was incredible. "
Leeann, 22, Glasgow
" The best bit for me was when we first saw the hundreds of thousands of flamingos at the lake. It was strangely peaceful considering there were so many of them. It was an added bonus at Thomson Falls when we saw baboons in the trees! "
Emily, 29, Gosport
